Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper Mine and Concentrator

Al Hadeetha Resources LLC (AHRL) is a strategic joint venture between Alara Oman Operations Pty Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Alara Resources Ltd), Al Hadeetha Investments LLC, and Al Tasnim Infrastructure LLC. The partnership was originally established in 2011 between Company A and Company B to explore and develop the mineral-rich license areas of Al Wash-hi Majaza, Al Ajal, and Mullaq. In 2019, Al Tasnim Infrastructure LLC joined the venture, bringing strong local expertise and execution capabilities to advance the project.

Located about 160 km southwest of Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman, the Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper-Gold Project is AHRL’s flagship operation. The development centres on a single open-pit mine supported by a 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) processing plant, engineered to produce high-quality copper concentrate for the export market.

AHRL has secured a long-term offtake agreement with global commodities trader Trafigura, under which most of the copper concentrate and associated gold production will be sold over the life of the mine. Pricing is tied to prevailing London Metal Exchange (LME) rates at the time of delivery, ensuring transparency and alignment with global market benchmarks.

Copper Processing Plant

Our state-of-the-art 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) copper processing plant commenced operations in early 2024, achieving first salable production in April. Designed to produce approximately 35,000 wet metric tonnes (WMT) of copper concentrate annually, the facility consistently delivers a copper grade of 20–22%.

The processing flowsheet includes:

  1. Jaw Crusher
  2. Semi-Autogenous Grinding (SAG) and Ball Mills
  3. Hydro-cyclones
  4. Flotation Circuits
  5. Thickening and Pressure Filtration

These systems are engineered for maximum efficiency and high metal recovery.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, the plant employs a Dry Tailings Storage Facility (DTSF) for environmentally responsible tailings management—an approach that significantly reduces water consumption and enhances long-term operational safety.
With a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and environmental stewardship, the facility sets a new benchmark for modern copper processing in the region.
